Team Medical Facility
Chadron State College Athletics is partnered with the Monument Health medical system to provide healthcare options for all Student Athletes. The hospital system is headquartered in Rapid City, SD and equipped with over 5,000 caregivers across 31 different specialties. The CSC Team Physician travels to campus for free evaluations and referrals for further care each week. In the event that any Student Athlete needs to consult with a surgeon, our Sports Medicine Staff communicates, coordinates, and facilitates appointments in Rapid City.

All Students at CSC have access to Counseling and Medical Services during the school year. This includes licensed counselors and nursing resources for general medical conditions.

Physicals
Chadron State College does not accept outside physicals. All physicals are done through the Monument Health system to help achieve high quality exams and continuity of care. Athletes don’t need to worry about setting up an appointment with them as the sports medicine staff sets aside a few days in the fall to take athletes to Rapid City, SD to get their physicals done as a group. If an athlete plans to come to Chadron earlier than the fall move-in date, please contact an athletic trainer to set up a separate date.
Sickle Cell Trait Testing
Implemented in 2022, all NCAA Student Athletes must have documentation of a sickle cell trait test before participating in any physical activity at Chadron State College. All test results will be accepted considering most Student Athletes have been previously tested. If you do not have documentation for sickle cell trait testing, the Sports Medicine Staff will assist in scheduling appointments at the Chadron hospital. Please note that these results may take a few days to be returned to you.
Healthy Roster Electronic Medical Records
CSC Athletics utilizes the Healthy Roster EMR system to document and manage injuries and health statuses for all athletes. All athletes returning or incoming have required forms to fill out within this platform. Student Athletes under the age of 19 must have legal guardians sign their paperwork according to the state of Nebraska. Healthy Roster is available on iPhone and Android devices.
